<Job Summary>
We are seeking a results-driven Data Analyst to support our trucking and logistics operations. This role is responsible for analyzing operational and financial data to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability. The ideal candidate will transform complex transportation data into clear insights that directly impact business decisions.<\/p>\n
This is a hands-on role focused on performance improvement \u2014 not just report generation.<\/p>\n
<Responsibilities><\/p>\n
Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets using advanced SQL techniques and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations with tools like Tableau, and Looker to communicate insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
Analyze freight, dispatch, routing, fuel usage, and driver performance data
Develop dashboards and performance reports using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:
On-time delivery
Cost per mile
Fuel efficiency
Deadhead miles
Driver utilization
Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend cost-saving strategies
Automate recurring reports and improve data workflows
Collaborate with dispatch, operations, and leadership teams
Present findings and actionable insights to non-technical stakeholders
<Requirements><\/p>\n
Hands-on experience with Tableau, Looker, or similar visualization tools.
Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and project management principles applied within analytics projects.
Strong SQL skills (required)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with BI tools ( Tableau, Looker, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of database design principles using Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle databases.
Strong business analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets into clear insights.
Experience working with linked data sources and implementing analytics best practices.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with Visio or similar diagramming tools for documenting system workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Experience in trucking, transportation, supply chain, or logistics
Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
Familiarity with ELD, fleet telematics, or fuel card data
Experience with Python or R
Experience with forecasting or predictive analytics
