Are you ready to change the way the world moves?<\/p>\n<p>In this position&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>As a Hardware Engineer in Ford\u2019s Advanced Networking Group, you will own signal integrity and hardware robustness for high \u2011 speed in \u2011 vehicle communication links. This team identifies and develops optimal networking technologies for Ford\u2019s next \u2011 generation electrical architecture\u2014introducing new solutions and enhancing existing ones\u2014to reduce overall system cost while ensuring electrical robustness for automotive use.<\/p>\n<p>You will author Layer 1\u20132 networking specifications and design verification documents used across all Ford vehicle programs, lead hardware design reviews, and perform simulations and lab validation for network interfaces. Depending on experience and qualifications, this position may be filled at the Senior Hardware Engineer level.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll have&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.<\/li>\n<li>5+ years of progressive experience in electronic hardware design, with significant focus on complex high \u2011 speed digital and mixed \u2011 signal designs.<\/li>\n<li>2+ years of experience with SI simulation and\/or PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, Cadence Allegro, Siemens HyperLynx, Cadence Sigrity, Ansys HFSS\/SIwave, Polar Instruments, etc.<\/li>\n<li>2+ years of hands \u2011 on experience with electrical test equipment; proficient with oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers (VNA), time domain reflectometers (TDR), and circuit board rework.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with industry \u2011 standard automotive communication interfaces (e.g., CAN, LIN, SerDes, PCIe, Ethernet).<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in transmission line theory, S \u2011 parameters, bit error rate (BER) testing, crosstalk, characteristic impedance, eye diagrams, and time \u2011 domain analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of EMC\/EMI principles in automotive applications.<\/li>\n<li>Background in high \u2011 reliability electronics designed for high \u2011 volume production, including use of DFMEA and worst \u2011 case analysis (WCA) to develop robust designs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Even better, you may have&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PhD with 3+ years of relevant hardware\/SI experience, or Master\u2019s degree with 7+ years of relevant hardware\/SI experience.<\/li>\n<li>5+ years of experience with SI simulation and PCB design tools.<\/li>\n<li>In \u2011 depth knowledge of transmission line and electromagnetic theory.<\/li>\n<li>Automotive networking experience (e.g., 10BASE \u2011 T1S, 100\/1000BASE \u2011 T1, Multi \u2011 Gig T1, GMSL\/FPD \u2011 Link, CAN FD, LIN).<\/li>\n<li>Deep understanding of typical vehicle EE architectures and automotive development processes.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with networking hardware, network architectures\/topologies, data rates, configurations, and protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with EMC\/EMI standards and testing (e.g., Ford FMC 1278, ISO 7637 series, CISPR 25, CISPR 12).<\/li>\n<li>Experience capturing and authoring requirements and technical specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Experience using vehicle diagnostic tools to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve network issues.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with automotive standards organizations such as IEEE, SAE, Automotive SerDes Alliance (ASA), and the OPEN Alliance.<\/li>\n<li>Self \u2011 starter who takes ownership of loosely defined goals, drives clarity where needed, and collaborates effectively across functions to deliver results.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we&#8217;ve outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!<\/p>\n<p>As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice.
