Supervisor Duties: Manage and coordinate employees for farm work and laborer positions and farm equipment operator job duties. Direct and coordinate, through subordinate supervisory personnel, the activities of workers dedicated to the production of agricultural crops. Directs and coordinates worker activities such as planting, watering, applying chemicals, and harvesting. Coordinates cultivation activities with management, human resources, agronomy department, equipment maintenance, packing house, and other related departments. Examples of supervisory duties are: \u2022 Monitor workers to ensure that safety regulations are followed, warning or disciplining those who violate safety regulations. \u2022 Ensure tasks are completed and arrive at job sites on time. \u2022 Make sure employees follow all rules set by the employer \u2022 Make sure they are maintaining and cleaning living areas. Notify appropriate staff of housing issues so they can be addressed \u2022 Make sure the home is cleaned regularly \u2022 Ensure vehicles are cleaned and fluids checked regularly \u2022 Notify appropriate personnel of vehicle issues so they can be addressed \u2022 ManageH2A employee time clock to ensure hours worked are recorded correctly \u2022 Manage transportation to and from work and grocery stores once a week \u2022 Disciplinary writing and record keeping for employees \u2022 Check the location of workers several times a day \u2022 Notify appropriate personnel of any injuries so they are reported and managed appropriately \u2022 Ensure employees have the proper equipment to do their jobs, as well as track equipment and maintenance \u2022 Coordinate with farm management to ensure the correct number and correct employees are in designated areas \u2022 Language translation for farm management \u2022 Manage the location, stock, cleanliness and number of portable toilets with work equipment \u2022 Manage record books for food safety \u2022 Monitor heat\/climate for work crews and adhere to guidelines \u2022 Ability to generate the work order in the worker&#8217;s area of responsibility independently and ability to calculate anticipated production by field and my workday. Flexibility and Adaptability: Adapt to changing weather conditions or urgent operational needs. Attention to Detail: Precision in record-keeping, data analysis for of crop yields, and reporting on daily operations is required to ensure optimal farm performance. Continuous Learning Attitude: A commitment to staying updated on the latest agricultural trends, technologies, and regulations by attending workshops, seminars, or pursuing relevant certifications at the employer\u2019s expense. \u2022 During harvest, workers will drive harvest vehicles. \u2022 Responsible for vehicle maintenance tasks, including fueling and cleaning. \u2022 Must check and maintain vehicle safety features and perform minor repairs or routine maintenance as necessary. This position requires a minimum of twelve months for the employee to get a full understanding of the job and responsibilities. Must be able to understand work &amp; safety instructions in English or Spanish, the languages spoken and written in the workplace. Variable weather conditions. All work must be performed in a manner that exhibits Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and the utmost food safety at all times.
