About LivMed<\/p>\n
LivMed is a Johns Hopkins spinout building AI-guided robotic surgery systems for ophthalmic care. We’re early stage, moving fast, and the work you do here will show up directly in the operating room.<\/p>\n
The Role<\/p>\n
You’ll design, develop, and implement software for our surgical imaging system. A big part of this job is taking research-grade prototypes and turning them into production-ready, industry-standard software. This includes work on our OCT imaging pipeline, real-time data processing, and the interfaces surgeons interact with in the OR. If you’ve done that kind of translation work before and enjoyed it, we should talk.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
MS in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (PhD or postdoctoral experience preferred)
Industry experience in ophthalmic imaging, surgical technology, or a related medical device field \u2014 academic experience alone is not sufficient for this role
Strong C\/C++ programming skills (this is a must)
Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
Research or development experience building user interfaces
Hands-on experience with OCT systems or real-time imaging pipelines (strongly preferred)
Solid theoretical background in image processing (plus)
Strong CUDA programming skills (plus)
What makes you a good fit<\/p>\n
You’ve worked in ophthalmic or surgical imaging before, ideally at companies like Zeiss, Alcon, Bausch and Lomb, or Topcon, and you understand what it takes to build software around clinical imaging systems. You know the difference between research code and production code and have done the work of closing that gap. You dig into problems until they’re solved, not just patched. You do well in environments where things move fast and the team is small.<\/p>\n
Compensation and Benefits<\/p>\n
Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Equity participation available. Visa sponsorship considered on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n
Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year<\/p>\n
