ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Forecasting researcher at Aaru, you will build and extend prediction systems that forecast real-world events across domains. The Research team is responsible for Aaru’s simulation capabilities \u2014 the core technology that enables our customers to make decisions with confidence. You’ll lead and grow the Forecasting team, improving existing systems and designing new architectures alongside a small team of researchers, engineers, and designers.<\/p>\n

RESPONSABILIT\u00c0
Extend and improve our existing forecasting systems while designing new architecture to expand domain coverage and prediction quality
Develop methods for ingesting heterogeneous real-world signals into structured prediction inputs.
Creatively source and borrow data across domains to solve problems where clean training data doesn’t exist
Design hybrid pipelines that use language models for signal extraction and reasoning alongside classical forecasting method
Build and manage a high-performing forecasting team
YOU MAY BE A FIT IF
You are an expert in creatively applying forecasting methods: predictive modeling, discrete event prediction, time series, and related forecasting methods
You are interested in combining LLM-based reasoning with classical forecasting methods.
You communicate clearly about what’s working and what isn’t, including when results are null or ambiguous
You have a PhD in ML, statistics, computer science, computational social science, or a quantitative field, or equivalent depth from industry research
You are deeply curious and motivated by challenging forecasting problems
You move fast and are comfortable producing work at high velocity without sacrificing rigor
STRONG CANDIDATES MAY ALSO
Have built forecasting systems that operated across multiple domains simultaneously
Published work in a relevant area is a plus
Have worked in a high-velocity research environment
LOCATION
This role is based in New York City. Aaru is an in-person company and during this exciting period of hypergrowth, we work 6 days a week in office. Candidates are expected to be located within the New York City metropolitan area or open to relocation.<\/p>\n
