The Assistant Front Office Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that our guests receive an unforgettable experience from the moment they arrive. This position assists the Director of Guest Services in overseeing the entire Front Office department, providing leadership, training, and support for the team to deliver intuitive, thoughtful service that reflects Alila Ventana Big Sur\u2019s luxury standards.<\/p>\n
This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, colleagues, and leaders across the resort. The Assistant Front Office Manager must collaborate effectively with other departments \u2014 including Housekeeping, Sales, Food & Beverage, Spa, Human Resources, and Finance \u2014 to support a seamless, elevated guest experience from arrival to departure.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Assist in the daily management of Front Office operations, including Front Desk, Concierge, Bell Services, and Night Audit.
\nSupport recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and training of Front Office colleagues.
\nChampion service excellence by modeling authentic, personalized guest interactions.
\nMonitor guest arrivals and departures, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and thoughtfully.
\nCollaborate closely with Housekeeping, Sales, Food & Beverage, Spa, Human Resources, Finance, and other departments to coordinate guest needs and ensure smooth operations.
\nMaintain accurate records, manage departmental expenses, and support operational efficiencies.
\nServe as Manager on Duty as needed and maintain a visible presence to support both guests and colleagues.<\/p>\n
Salary Range: $68,640 \u2013 $73,000 annual salary<\/p>\n

Previous hotel supervisory or management experience required; Front Office experience strongly preferred.
\nLuxury resort or hotel experience preferred.
\nFamiliarity with Opera PMS and other hospitality systems preferred.
\nComputer proficiency required.
\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\nProven leadership abilities with a passion for developing and supporting team members.
\nAbility to build positive, effective relationships with colleagues across multiple departments.
\nValid driver\u2019s license required.
\nFlexible schedule required, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.<\/p>\n
Work Environment & Physical Requirements<\/p>\n
Ability to stand, walk, and move through the resort for prolonged periods.
\nMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
