We strive to make the Allen Institute a place where everyone feels like they belong and are empowered to do their best work in a supportive environment.<\/p>\n<p>We are an equal-opportunity employer and strongly encourage people from all backgrounds to apply for our open positions.<\/p>\n<p>Essential Functions<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the development and implementation of computational tools to analyze LICONN datasets<\/li>\n<li>Lead and collaborate with other teams to extract discoveries from LICONN datasets and generate scientific impact<\/li>\n<li>Work collaboratively with other Institute teams to build pipelines and scale up Connectomics and Proteomics data analysis<\/li>\n<li>Present a periodic summary of progress to internal and external research community<\/li>\n<li>Publish and present findings in peer-reviewed journals and scientific meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This description reflects management\u2019s assignment of essential functions; it does not proscribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.<\/p>\n<p>Required Education and Experience<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Computer Science, or related or an equivalent combination of degree and experience<\/li>\n<li>Proven strong background in computational methods and data analysis<\/li>\n<li>Strong publication record<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated broad knowledge in neuroscience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preferred Education and Experience<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exceptional oral and written communication and organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience in relevant computational data analysis methods in Connectomics such as CAVE<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Python<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment to meet aggressive timelines<\/li>\n<li>Ability to guide teams and coordinate activities within and across institutions, including coaching\/mentoring junior members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Work Environment<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Laboratory environment \u2013 occasionally entering labs where experiments take place<\/li>\n<li>Working at a desk with computer analyzing data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Physical Demands<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fine motor movements in fingers\/hands to operate computers and other office equipment; repetitive motion with lab equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Position Type\/Expected Hours of Work<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This role is currently working onsite.
